Week 18 AFL American Conference Playoff Picture

A couple of fluky bounces off of the Amway Center netting gave the Pittsburgh Power their third loss in four weeks and dropped them to 8-7 overall. Unfortunately Cleveland came away with a last second win over Milwaukee. That leaves the Power scrambling for their playoff lives with just three weeks remaining. Here is what the remaining schedules look like for the American Conference's contenders heading into week 18:

 vs. Arizona Rattlers (14-2)
@ Cleveland Gladiators (9-6)
@ Philadelphia Soul (5-11)

@ Philadelphia Soul (5-11)
vs. Pittsburgh Power (8-7)
vs. Utah Blaze (7-8)

@ San Jose Sabercats (6-9)
@ Tulsa Talons (6-9)
vs. New Orleans VooDoo (3-12)

vs. Chicago Rush (11-4)
@ Tampa Bay Storm (6-9)
@ Iowa Barnstormers (4-11)

The Power have the toughest road of the four teams.
Georgia and Orlando both hold the tiebreaker over the Power.
Cleveland holds the tiebreaker over Georgia.
Orlando holds the tiebreaker over Cleveland.

How do the Power get in? In my estimation, they must win their division. Georgia and Orlando would have to completely collapse to miss out on the postseason. The good news is if the Power win all of their remaining games they are division champions. The bad news is that they play the Arizona Rattlers in week 18. If the Power lose that game they must win their final two games and they also must hope for Cleveland to lose to either Philadelphia or Utah. If the Power lose to Cleveland their season is all but over.
It will be fun to see how these final few weeks play out. Hopefully it starts with a Power win over Arizona.
